From my first phone call to Vicki, she was always close to her cell and easy to get in touch with! She was flexible with our schedule and shoot site. She didn't have much time to work with our US Presidential candidate, but in the time she did have she was personable and put the candidate at ease, as well as doing a beautiful job preparing him for the shoot. The next time we are up in Boston, I will definitely be giving her a call again!

Vicki,

I have worked both in industrials (for IBM, Harvard Business School, Churchill Films of Los Angeles, etc.) and in Holywood (Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., MGM, NBC, CBS, ABC, etc.)

I can honestly say that you are unique as a make-up artist in that I have felt from the few times we've worked together that you are 100% committed to the well-being of the production. My experience with most Make-Up Artists is that they do their job and only look to make things better if asked. You do more more than that.

But you are more than just a consumate, competent professional in being on time, technically proficient in your craft, easy to communicate with, knowledgable about make-up time required for different actors, and so on. But I perceive you as being more: a true TEAM player, who cares deeply about the production and will do her utmost to make the show great. You are always thinking about both big things AND little things. You offer suggestions, are flexible, give feedback, are courteous and respectful of all cast and crews...

Your presence on our shows gave me one less thing to have to worry about, and one more element to be glad of.

Best,
Peter Z. Orton, Ph.D.

Dear Vicki,

Thank you for your outstanding makeup artistry during this past Democratic National Convention in Boston. You really came through for us "beautifully" with the VIPS we needed to have for the camera for 7 a.m. calls. Among those very pleased were Vice President Gore, and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. In fact this past Sunday when Secretary Madeleine Albright appeared on "Meet The Press", I checked her makeup out, and came to the conclusion your work looked more natural and flattering.

It would be my pleasure to be able to utilize your services again when the occasion will arise.

Sincerely,

It is my pleasure to recommend the make-up and hair styling of Vicki Morgenstern. Vicki's talent extends beyond the appropriate and indeed, beautiful, application of make-up and hair designing. She brings a wonderful energy to the set. Her friendliness and eagerness help contribute to the overall shot: the models are relaxed and happy and always looking beautiful.

I also feel that Vicki's unbridled enthusiasm for the creative process is an important asset to the photography and one that is rare in the business. Vicki possesses a sense of the big picture and how her talents as a creative hair and make-up artist help contribute to the photography.

Vicki's also great on set, very conscientious when initially applying make-up and keeping an eye when the models are on set. As a photographer, it's a talent I really appreciate.

And finally, I applaud Vicki for always being prepared and thinking through a shoot: whether it's a stylized fashion/editorial shoot or a lifestyle, natural photograph, Vicki always comes prepared with ideas and enthusiasm that effect the day's dynamics in a positive and wonderful way.

I am extremely grateful for all your hard work on our location shoots in Boston and the dedication you showed. I think Daphne's make-up looked excellent - as you will see from the shows. I was also extremely impressed with your enthusiasm, the fact you were always on time and ready to work and willingness to get the job done as efficiently as possible. I was also impressed with the work you did on our contributors.

Kind Regards,

Vicki's work on set was both efficient and professional. Artistically she got exactly what the director was looking for. Overall, I found Vicki enjoyable and capable.

Dear Vicki,

On behalf of all of us at One80, I want to thank you for your contribution to the Lifetime Live project. You did a wonderful job making up all of those women. Not only did they look great, they were also always on time. I realize that they were very ambitious to have close to thirty women performing over two days. We were lucky to have you working with us under those circumstances. Thanks again. I look forward to working with you again in the future.

Sincerely,

Dear Vicki,

"... your enthusiasm and energy are telltale signs of a person involved in the creation of art. Working with people who do care so much, who are aware of the joy of it at the same time, is invigorating to others. The worst thing on a set is to be faced with the opposite: the "let's get this one done so we can get out of here" mentality. In particular, it was evident in the way you noticed tiny changes in the models' make-up & hair as the shoot progressed.

And of course the model looked really great. That's evidence."

To whom it may concern,

We recently worked with Ms. Vicki Morgenstern on a corporate training video for NYNEX about "Wholesale/Retail" telephone service. It was an intensive taping schedule involving the remote shooting of a large number of people in a very short amount of time. Vicki and her assistant worked closely and calmly with us to ensure that everyone was made up properly and on schedule for their camera appearance. She has the ability to make professional and non-professional talent feels comfortable and looks very natural on camera. I have found it very easy and fun to work with her in our productions and look forward to using her again in the near future.

To whom it may concern:

I am an art director and presently run my own small agency. During the past sixteen years I have worked for Ingalls, Mullen and Cosmopulos, Crowley & Daly. Some of the clients I have served include Kelloggs, Salada, Ocean Spray, Pastine. Today, my client list includes Joyce Chen, Business Interiors and Salem Hospital.

It was the later client which first brought me together with Vicki Morgenstern. She has clearly helped to make several photography assignments very successful. Both indoors and out, for black and white and color, with professional and amateur models she has made the difference. And on all occasions clients have volunteered their praise for her contributions.

She has a good sense of the technical aspects of photography as it relates to her craft. After a quick study of a model, she applies just the right touch for the type of lighting, film and mood. The final photographic products have always exhibited very natural looking people with just the right touch of character for the assignment.

Just as important as her skill as a makeup artist is her rapport with models. On several occasions I have seen her sit with an amateur model for about twenty minutes, preparing him or her for the camera, and each one has then come before the photographer or myself with the confidence and patience of a seasoned professional model.

I happily recommend Vicki to anyone desiring to produce wonderful looking photographs of people.

Sincerely,
Richard Hydren
